A Gator spotted at Par Duck Pond last week has not been seen and could be dead. A media frenzy followed the initial sighting by a young mum who says she saw the reptile at the pond. But the mini gator has not been seen again, despite members of the public flocking to the pond to catch a glimpse of the creature dubbed Damon the Cayman.
The woman was convinced what she saw was a two-foot long aligator, she threw it a cake to see if there was movement, whereupon it blinked at her.
An Animal Welfare Charity investigated, they believed it may have been released into the pond by someone with an interest in exotic animals who could no longer deal with it as a household pet and the Charity says it is posssible the creature had died from the cold English winter weather.
